It's easier to do than describe, mostly 'cause if you show the proper use of the angle brackets, the commands disappear.
Here's a couple simple html instructions - just replace the regular brackets with the corresponding angle brackets (less-than/greater-than signs):
(I)
At the beginning and
(/I) at the end of a passage will put it into italics, whilst (B)
will put a passage into bold.
