If there aren't many exorcists out there -- say only a few dozen in the US -- then it wouldn't be surprising for each one to get several hundred requests. There are around 2.4 million adult Americans with schizophrenia each year; if even a tenth of a percent of those looked like demonic possession, that'd add up to 2400 people right there.
