Two days back from the break...

... and I could already use another holiday. The kids are being a pain in the butt (though, fortunately, not overly so) and I'm having a wee bit of a problem summoning the energy to catch up with the marking (which I had intended to do during the break, but oh well...).

The holidays themselves were reasonably unremarkable, aside from the collapse of the laptop and its subsequent replacement by the desktop system. My passport is still with Home Office awaiting approval for a Leave to Remain, so I wasn't able to travel past the border. I did make a couple of trips to Birmingham to visit a friend, but aside from that, I pretty much just lazed around. I even actually finished a novel! American Gods by Neil Gaiman was an entertaining read!

I've also consumed a number of DVDs, including two new favourites: Vanilla Sky, and The Butterfly Effect. It could be that I have a thing for complex narrative structures, though Hotel sucked ass.

Aside from that, it's back to living day-by-day until the next break (a long weekend at the end of April).
