Week 4 of the running program
Sep. 5th, 2006 07:09 pmI've just discovered that I can cover about 2.3 miles in a non-stop run on a level track. The time for the first mile was 11 minutes, 50 seconds. It's no 4 minute mile, but it's gotta be better than that for the average couch potato, right?
Between that and the 25 minute walk to the train station this morning, I must be achieving some degree of physical fitness. I only wish that my efforts would show a little more.
Meanwhile, at the school, I'm still in relative limbo as to whether or not I'll be playing science teacher this term. It was an easy day, though, with year 7s behaving damn near perfectly (the year 10s, on the other hand...). Tomorrow will be the first full on day for the term, though I won't have to do any lesson planning; I'll just be supporting in class for the first week.
Aside from the current protests from my thighs, it should actually be a relatively relaxing start to the term.
