Fiddly bits...
Apr. 8th, 2008 06:19 pmWhen you're leaving a country and have to ship stuff home to the tune of £65 a box ($130 Cdn), you HAVE to be more selective. Furthermore,
you have to be careful to select the right size box (so that it doesn't go over the volumetric weight limit), take care not to overload the box, take care with packing (so the damn stuff arrives intact), catalog what you put into the boxes (for customs purposes), and do it in a timely fashion so you can weight it and then have the shippers come over to ship it.
I was hoping to have that done some time tomorrow so I could book for the shippers to arrive Thursday. Ain't gonna happen. It's all the fiddly bits that taking so much time. Yarg! At least, it isn't gonna happen without driving myself to extraordinary measures to do so and, frankly, I'm just not gonna do that during my supposed holidays. I'll have two working days left after I arrive from Germany on Wednesday. I'll book for the Thursday after my return. That gives me till Friday to sort my shit out (in a material sense).
Having decided that, methinks I will now stop fussing with packing processes and take time out for a film. (Hmm... This
Gabriel
looks interesting...)
