Spirit of Haida Gwaii, The Jade Canoe

One of my favourite artists is Bill Reid, an amazing sculptor who contributed strongly in bringing international recognition to the art of the First Nations. You can read more about him here:

My favourite piece is Spirit of Haida Gwaii, The Jade Canoe, which stands in Vancouver International Airport. Another copy of this amazing sculpture, The Black Canoe, is found at the Canadian embassy in Washington, D.C. 

The Jade Canoe, is currently prominently  featured on the Canadian twenty dollar bill
