Today had its highs and lows. The highs consisted mostly of a visit from my ex-girlfriend. She came up from Washington to see me before I leave for England. Having recently acquired a brand new laptop, she gave me her old one (and THAT makes life a LOT easier for me (no having to pack and ship my 'puter to England)). She really loved the ceramic mehndi egg I gave her. Though our attempt to see the Egypt exhibit at the museum was aborted due to ridiculously long lines, we had a very lovely time wandering through the city finding all the spots that I wasn't able to show her the last time she visited. We also had a pleasant drive along the coast before she had to head off. It was really good to be with her again.

The low of the day, of course, was when she left. I was missing her for a while, and even took a few St. John's Wort tablets to take the edge off of the sorrow.

I'm feeling much better, though. I've received a couple promising e-mails regarding shared accommodation and an e-mail from one of the women I've met, in an on-line dating service, that I was really hoping to hear back from. And I got another packing objective done with time to spare.

All-in-all, it was a good day.

Another big high!

My best friend has agreed to loan me the money I'll need to secure a place in England. That's a major worry dealt with! Now the only issue is actually getting a hold of a place to rent, a task made easier by knowing I'll have the funds to pay for it.

Life is getting much less stressful!

(chuckle) Naw, it's strictly a friendship for the forseeable future. I'm glad to have her as a friend, though.
