Go me!

Life continues on progressing as it should, though I've had a bit of a set back in that I haven't done much running this week on account of some not-so-ignorable pangs in my left knee. I've decided to give it a few days rest and continue a reduced running regime, half an hour instead of forty minutes. I'll have to make up the physical effort in another manner. It's probably about time I start in on some Aikido or Tai Chi.

On the progressive side, last night I slept... without the CPAP machine! Yes, I'm well on my way to conquering the obstructive sleep apnea I've been suffering for so long. For years, there was no way I could sleep without the machine, but now I can, giving me a wider range of freedom to do things like camping or sleeping through a power outage. This discovery came about through two things; first, I noticed that, while my aging CPAP machine is dropping in performance, my quality of sleep has not and, second, confirmation of this through a sleep study that showed no occurence of apnea despite the fact that my machine was operating at about 70% at the time of the study. I tried sleeping without the machine a couple of times this week, but, whilst I could eventually fall asleep without it, I didn't sleep all the way through. However, I suspected that this was just a matter of getting used to not having the machine and, last night, confirmed it. It wasn't the highest callibre of rest for me, but it was sufficient and will likely get better as I continue to lose weight.

Another major piece of progressive is the massive amount of giftwrapping and card signing I did today. I may very well get all my pressies and cards out EARLY, let alone on time (for once)!

And most of my year 10s are really rolling on their coursework essays, a far cry from my dealings with a similar age and ability group I dealt with in my first year of teaching. In fact, this go around with full time English teaching actually seems to be somewhat relaxed, compared to my previous two years.

Yep, all seems well in Mr. Vulture's world at the mo'.
