Okay, I wound up really stressed and took a long time getting out of the gate today. It included muddling up plans to meet with someone in the afternoon. I did feel a lot better after talking with my mother for a while. She emphasized a need to stop worrying about the situation until I can actually find out more about it. She even suggested that, if this job in England doesn't go through, I might think about staying in Toronto to find work here (not an unreasonable idea; there'd be more teaching job opportunities plus a much larger base for tutoring work). And both she and my dad also opened the pursestrings (yet again) to make sure I had enough to deal with any potential visa application fees I may have to deal with on Monday. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Despite the slow start, I still managed to tour the Art Gallery of Ontario. I almost wound up being a little disappointed by it; I was expecting it to be stunning but it just seemed kinda like a larger version of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, with the Group of Seven substituting for Emily Carr. It was pleasant, I suppose, but I was expecting grander. Then, about half an hour before closing, I got to the Henry Moore exhibit and fell in love! Those wonderful, sensuous, organic forms! They're just incredible! They alone were well worth the visit! Here's a taste of what I saw.

On the way home, I stopped at a mall I'd been meaning to visit, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, to purchase a few pairs of pants and stuff. This, sadly, was a pretty upscale mall and most everything was way out of my price range (okay, until I'm actually making 120 pounds a day, I'm still shopping at Zellers!). Shopping consisted mostly of walking in, checking the price of the stuff on sale, trying not to wince, and walking out, hoping nobody had noticed. The sidetrip wasn't a total waste though; I found a Radio Shack and purchased a couple plug adaptors for the UK, which was something I'd been forgetting to do. Later on, I stopped in at (you guessed it) Zellers, and picked up a few pairs of pants for about the price one pair would have cost at Yorkdale. I also picked up a new belt, something else I'd been badly needing.

And now I'm simply contemplating dinner...
