I'm thinking that my thyroid gland may finally be well and truly packing it in. I've been feeling exceptionally drained over the last couple weeks (despite plenty of sleep and a fairly light work load). I've suffered these kind of slow downs in the past, but not for this long and not in such increasing frequency. Blood tests a few years back revealed that, though my thyroid activity level was only just below average at the time, I have antibodies against the gland (one of those autoimmune diseases kinda like arthritis). I was told that it was only a matter of time before they finally did it in. I'm getting a blood test done on Monday to find out whether or not that time is now.

Before anyone panics, this is not a huge thing; it's easily compensated for with a steady diet of thyroid tablets. In fact, I'm actually looking forward to having a regular metabolism for a change.

Meanwhile, I have but one day left of summer school and then I'm free for four weeks. Yippee!

I know the feeling, I've been on thyroid tablets for a year now. Mine was going way too slow.

this site is amazing for thyroid information. I use Armour... natural thyroid is often much better than synthetic thyroid because it has both types T4/T3 which often helps the body better utilize the thyroid medication. Often drugs only have T4 and the body is expected to produce the other type of hormones.

anyhow... this website has mucho wonderful information.

Those were quite helpful sites, thank you! It's actually amazing how many of the things I've suffered through over the years could be attributed to fluctuating thyroid activity (including a spell of anxiety attacks a few years back).

*nods*

really an amazing site... She is way with the program. I take Armour thyroid myself... it hasn't seemed to help as much lately, but I think it is because I haven't been exercising as much as I used to... *ugh*
